We provide a number of classes, covering both the main Tajweed qualification route, as well as standalone recitation and memorisation classes. Please see below for a summarised curriculum covered in each of our courses.
Main Tajweed Qualification Courses
Progression to the next class occurs when the student has successfully passed the previous stage. The taught curriculum is from the Al Muneer textbook.
Foundation
- Makhaarij (articulation points of the letters)
- Sifaat (characteristics of the letters)
Tamhidiyyah
- Introduction to the science of Tajweed
- Al Istiaathah and al Basmalah
- Tafkheem and tarqeeq
Intermediate (Mutawaseta)
- The Relationships of Letters
- The Rules of Nun saakinah and Tanween
- Madd- types and their rules
Mutaqadimah (level 1 and 2)
- Al waqf and Al ibtidaa
Itqaan
- The recitation of 5 juz’ of the Quran, with application of all Tajweed rules is required
Ijaaza
- One-to-one: the Quran is recited from beginning to end with a qualified teacher, covering all Tajweed rules
Other Courses
- Telawah (Recitation) Class
These classes are devoted to Telawah correction for all levels, taught by a qualified teacher to ensure you are reading with the correct Tajweed rules. There is no examination for these classes:
- Tuesday morning
- Thursday afternoon: free of charge, for all levels
- Hifdh Class
Memorisation of the Qur’an, starting from either Juz 30, or Surah al-Baqarah and onwards.
- Qaidah Nooraniyyah
Covers the phonetic reading of Qur’anic words, and the articulation points of letters.
- Comprehensive Class for Tajweed Rules
The Tajweed rules are explained in detail, from the Al Muneer textbook.
